The standard Zenair kit comes with all airframe kit parts needed to build the aircraft: The complete kit includes the factory riveted wing spars, pre-formed sheet-metal parts (ribs, skins, etc.), factory-welded parts, landing gear (tricycle), standard fuel system, new canopy, controls and all hardware required for assembly. Standard features in this kit include electric flaps, electric elevator trim tab, new cabin roll-over protection, welded steel access steps, hydraulic disk brakes, and much, much more.
All major airframe components are assembled but each has one skin surface left unriveted so that the internal structure can be finished and inspected. Control system, gear, fuel system and canopy are provided but still need to be assembled and installed. FWF is NOT included.
The “Ready-to-Fly” (RTF) Zenairs are being manufactured also in Europe; they are now sold as ultralights (ULM) or as experimental category in most European countries through regional Zenair dealers and representatives. The standard ready-to-fly airplane is equipped with the 100HP Rotax 912ULS, Continental O-200 (or Lycoming O360 180HP) and includes standard flight equipment including radio.
